Mc Callion Group respects our moral responsibility to protect the environment we develop in. We strive towards producing “green” projects in an affordable manner that are sustainable to the surrounding environment. We’ve adopted sustainable, eco-friendly construction strategies to ensure we adhere to our responsibilities.

Our design and build projects ensure that the most sustainable designs are incorporated into the projects. We use sustainable, locally sourced building materials that are recycled and non-toxic. We design sustainable urban drainage systems into our sites to ensure that our projects never negatively affect the local environment.

We make savings to the construction costs and the running costs by installing energy efficient heating and ventilation systems to ensure that the cost of running will be sustainable to the lifespan of the buildings.

We operate a strict policy to effectively manage construction site waste. We recycle packaging, wood, metal and plastic waste generated from site. We recycle existing site waste and soils on site where possible by designing it into the projects at design stage. This then in turn, reduces construction costs and the carbon footprint of the project.

Mc Callion Group saves construction energy use where possible. We prefabricate off site and use precast concrete construction elements where possible in lieu of in-situ concrete. This not only saves energy usage but also aids in reducing the on-site construction programme.

Value Engineering

McCallion Group analyse every project at design stage and develop a set of value engineering recommendations to our client. This not only benefits the clients budget but it also reduces the need for design changes after the construction has commenced.

Renewable Grant Funding – SEAI

McCallion Group is a registered contractor with the SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland). Our clients can avail of the energy saving grants available with the SEAI and we are an approved contractor to carry out and drawn down on grant funded works.

Mc Callion Group has extensive experience in Design and Build (D&B) contracts. Our D&B contracts offer our clients full control over costs. We agree to a lump sum contract and take on the responsibility for both the design and the construction, at the agreed price. We have our own team of experienced designers and we also engage in outside firms.

We have found that D&B contracts allow us to reduce the construction time in that the responsibility and control is then fully in our hands. D&B also omits any financial risk inherent in a project be it from the price of labour or materials which are likely to rise in cost.

Civil engineering is Mc Callion Group’s forte. We have all our own plant, machinery, engineers and a full labour force to carryout all civil works. We have extensive experience in constructing roads, bridges, sewerage systems, storm water drainage, storm attenuation systems, pipelines, ducting, ESB substations, minor and major structures ranging from houses, commercial buildings to multi-storey buildings.

We are also contracted often to eradicate invasive species such as Japanese Knotweed. We have successfully eradicated Japanese Knotweed from various sites. We frequently handle, treat and dispose of contaminated waste and asbestos. We pride ourselves in offering more cost effective solutions to combat these type of situations.

Mc Callion Group has built up a huge level of commercial building experience over the past 17-years. We have clients all over Ireland, who we work with on an on-going basis. We offer a full package from design, site clearance, groundworks, construction and fitout. Our attention to detail, quality and the high standard of finish that we leave on every job is what has made us successful in today’s busy market place.

We take great pride in our full building fitout, to include the design and coordination of all mechanical and electrical components. We can achieve huge saving by introducing more efficient heating and ventilation systems. We work very closely with a number of M&E contracting firms who we then take on board to carryout M&E aspects of work. We manage and coordinate all M&E design and programming in-house. Our select contractors build by area diligently to ensure timely handover of systems and commissioning.

Mc Callion Group carry out an array of renovation and refurbishment projects for both commercial and private clients. Renovations are usually carried out under tighter time constraints. These types of projects are programmed meticulously with the client to ensure that as little as possible disruption is experienced to the client and end users.

Over a 4 year period McCallion Group developed a lot of land in Donegal for both private and social residential use. We constructed surplus to 200 units in Donegal, ranging from 1-3 bedroom apartments, semi-detached house, detached house to bespoke luxurious homes.

McCallion Group have the expertise to transpose historically acclaimed buildings and structures into sustainable buildings that will last for hundred of years to come. We combine the finest craftsmanship in traditional trades with advanced knowledge of historic preservation ethics and rules. We have worked on all types of structures to include a 150 and 250 year old house, a 300 year-old mill building, a 200 year old country house and a 200 year old convent. We offer general consultation services, conditional assessments, grant writing, deconstruction, reconstruction, structural repairs, general carpentry, masonry and finishing carpentry. In the past, we have brought buildings which were on the brink of collapse back to a comfortable and practical building again.
